Fervis, flaming greatsword

Fervis
+1 Greatsword
Once the home of a water spirit loyal to Olyhydra, this sword has been cleansed by the fires of Kossuth and now houses a spark of pure elemental fire, though it does not show signs of true sentience. The double edged blade is long and straight, and appears to be crafted of blackened steel. When brought forth the spark causes the blade to glow with heat and sheds blue flames. This spark can be called upon by followers of Kossuth to provide a variety of magics stemming from this connection.

A divine caster loyal to Kossuth may invoke the sword’s name, causing flames to erupt from the blade. These flames shed bright light in a 40-foot radius and dim light for an additional 40 feet. While the sword is ablaze it deals an extra 2d6 fire damage to any target it hits as well as providing resistance to cold. The flames last until you use a bonus action to douse the flames or until you drop or sheathe the sword.

Additionally, while brandishing the sword the wielder can cast Burning hands (1 charge), Scorching Ray (2 charges) or Fire Shield (warm only, 3 charges) as standard actions. It can hold 5 charges and regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. Spells use the wielder’s spell save DC and spell attack bonus.
